Position Objective
The QA Specialist tests and quality assures all programs, application modules and products of simple to moderate complexity created by the Development Department using systematic quality assurance techniques.
Responsibilities
- Test and validate program modules to meet specifications and standards.
- Validate all written documentation for assignments are complete and accurate.
- Validate releases prior to distribution.
- Create and maintain test plans and test cases for all testing assignments, with assistance from the QA Manager or senior member of the department.
- Document software defects in the issue-tracking system and proactively communicate with software developers.
- Stay abreast of changes in the company’s computer environment including such areas as operating systems, utilities and hardware
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Accounting, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Two or more years of computer related experience in the fields of training, support or testing
- Keen attention to detail
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team and make sound independent decisions
